EWRB Competency Course

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE

This is an EWRB approved course for New Zealand Registered Electrical Workers who are required to complete a Competency Course as part of their Practising Licence renewal process, and for senior Apprentices who need to complete a Competency Course prior to applying for their initial registration and Practising Licence. This course is also suitable for Australian Electrical Workers looking to apply for a NZ Practising Licence under the TTMA (Trans-Tasman Mutual Agreement).

The course is six hours in duration and covers the following..

• Electrical Safety
• Testing
• First Aid & CPR

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All NZ Registered Electrical Workers who need to complete an approved Competency Course before they can renew their Practising Licence.

Australian Registered Electrical Workers looking to gain a NZ Practising Licence.

Senior Apprentices who need to complete an approved Competency Course prior to applying for initial registration.

Limited Certificate holders who have completed a Safety Training Course, plus all required hours, exams and practical assessments and who need to complete a Competency Course in order to apply for their practising licence. We will not accept applications unless you have completed all requirements first. 

This course is NOT suitable for Line Mechanics.

Associated Tradesperson Registration Class – You MUST have completed all course work and exams prior to applying to attend a Competency Course. You must also have an EW Number. Please contact the EWRB on 0800 661 000 to arrange this.

Our Competency Courses are available throughout the year and throughout the country.  They are available as both public and in-house courses.  Email training@goeit.nz to enquire about an in-house course or to register multiple staff for an existing course.
